Lee S. Smith Sr.
Age 85 of Lennon passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at Homewood Village in Flint, where he had been a resident for the past 3 years.
Military Honors will be rendered at 7:00 pm Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Nelson-House Funeral Home. Burial will take place at 3pm Friday October 9, 2015 at Allegheny County Memorial Park in Allegheny, Pennsylvania. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Thursday from2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Lee was born February 16, 1930 in Owosso, the son of Glenn and Martha (Holzhausen) Smith.
He grew up on the family farm on Juddville Rd and graduated from Owosso High School in 1948.
Lee was a member of United States Airforce where he served during the Korean War.
He married Helen Black; May 12, 1973. She predeceased him in July 2004.
Lee worked as a Foreman at the Flint Assembly Plant at General Motors where in retired from in 1985 after 30 years of service.
Lee is survived by his sons Lee (Karen) Smith Jr., and Mark Smith; grandchildren Erica (Matt Teeter) Smith, William Smith, Megan (Anthony) Yaksic, Cassandra Smith, and Allyson Smith; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Helen; his son Gary; and his parents.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice.
