SHEPPARD, Edmund C. – of Birch Run, age 79, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 at St. Mary’s of Saginaw. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Monday, March 27, 2017 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. Cremation to follow. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 2PM until 8PM and Monday from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM. Contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Ed was born March 11, 1938 in Royal Oak, Michigan to the late Edward and Gladys (Brown) Sheppard. He married Mary Bruckner on September 3, 1960 at Holy Redeemer Church in Flint. Mr. Sheppard retired from Chevrolet in 1990 with 36 years’ seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #659. Ed enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and trips to the casino. He also loved dogs, country music, and old westerns.
Surviving are: Wife of 56 years, Mary Sheppard of Birch Run; Daughters: Linda (Mike) David of Beaverton, Pat Sheppard of Standish, Karen (Brian) Patnode of Clio, and Carol Douglass of Clio; 12 grandchildren: Chris, Charlie, Amanda, Theresa, Jason, Angie, Jessica, Lloyd, Jeremy, Lisa, Carl, and Danielle; 13 great grandchildren; Sister, Violet. Ed was preceded in death by his son, Dan Sheppard; Daughter, Sandy Watts; Grandson, Timmy David; Granddaughter, Faye LaFleur; Son in law, Tom Douglass.
