Carole A. Parkinson passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Memorial service will be held at 3pm Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation will be held at 12pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
She was born on September 17, 1946, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Martin J. Gall and June Price.
Carole was the eldest of six children and is survived by her siblings: Shirley, Diane, Linda, Jerry, and Joanne.
She graduated from Kearsley High School in 1964. After high school, she married and welcomed two children, her son, Michael T. Schanick, and her daughter, Jenette M. Schanick. Later in life, Carole married her beloved husband, Lester J. Parkinson, on November 6, 2000, who preceded her in death.
Carole dedicated 30 years of her life as a nanny and housekeeper in the Genesee County area, where she was known for her strong work ethic and exceptional attention to detail.
She is survived by her three cherished grandchildren, Brendan Schanick, Emily Schanick, and Evan Schanick, whom she loved deeply. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, with special remembrance of David and Kevin Denholm.
Carole found great joy in supporting her grandchildren in all their activities. Whether attending sporting events, special ceremonies, or simply spending time shopping together, she was always proud to be a devoted grandmother.
She had a deep love for nature and enjoyed visiting gardens, where her fondness for sunflowers, yellow roses, and all yellow flowers reflected her bright and warm spirit. She also loved cooking and shopping and always looked forward to her trips to Las Vegas, Nevada, and Traverse City, Michigan.
Carole will be remembered for her strong faith and her deep love for her family.
