JACKSON, Paul J. – of Millington, age 93, died August 8, 2018 at his residence. A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 2PM until 6PM at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Full military honors will be conducted at 5PM under the direction of VFW Post #1452. Memorial contributions may be made to the World War II Memorial Wall

Paul was born April 21, 1925 in Lepanto, Arkansas to the late Bryce and Edna (Anderson) Jackson. He married Bea Henson in 1942. She preceded him in death in 2011. Paul served in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division. As an infantryman, he served in Ardennes, Central Europe, and Rhineland. He was wounded in Holland in September of 1944 and received a purple heart. Paul was also recognized for his honorable service with 3 Bronze Stars after the battle of Bastogne. Mr. Jackson retired from AC Delco in 1992 with 33 years of service and was a Chairman of UAW Local #651. He was also a member of the Millington Masonic Lodge, VFW Post #4087, and was an instrumental charter member of the WWII Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. In his earlier years Paul loved training horses, he was eventually nicknamed “Cowboy”. Paul also enjoyed playing in his band, Melody 4, participating in dancing competitions, and spending time with his family.

Surviving are: Son, Jack Jackson; Grandchildren: Jack (Kelly) Jackson, Tracy (Michael) Petrella, Misty Colden, Kari (Jeffrey) Bean, LeAnna (Daniel) Carr, Amber Bernard, and Shawn (Ashley) Dyer.
