Kathleen Marie Pittenger, age 74, of Corunna, Michigan was called home from McLaren Flint Hospital on September 28, 2026. She was born in Owosso, Michigan to Edward and Rita Conley. Kathleen graduated from Corunna High School in 1970, and earned her nursing degree from Mott Community College. She served as a Registered Nurse in surgery at Flint Osteopathic Hospital and Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc for 40 years, caring for others as she would her own.
Kathleen married Bruce Edward Pittenger on October 25, 1974, and together they raised their three children: Brent, Marc, and Lindsay. There was nothing she loved more than spending time with her family. Kathleen was a dedicated and devoted mother, attending sporting events and activities. She enjoyed annual family camping trips to Traverse City for over 20 years, making countless family memories. In addition to her family, she had a love for the land, animals, her Catholic faith as a lifetime parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Buicks, and family cookouts. She was also very proud to be a grandmother to Ellerie and Edward Pittenger, which brought her tremendous joy.
Kathleen is survived by her three children, Brent (Jessi) Pittenger, Marc Pittenger, and Lindsay Pittenger; grandchildren, Ellerie and Edward Pittenger; sister, Marianne (Jack) Kulhanek; brother, Dr. Edward J. Conley; nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Charles) Ryckman, Erica Kulhanek (Kamil Suran), Michael Kulhanek, and Matthew Kulhanek.
Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, Bruce Pittenger (2003); her parents, Rita Conley (1985) and Edward P. Conley (2002); stepmother, Dorlis Conley (2013); brother, Robert Conley (2010); aunts, Mary Katherine Fitzgerald (1997), Marvel Conley-Lewis (2004); uncle, Neil Conley (1977); great-nephew, Zachary Redburn (2012), and brother-in-law, Edward Rehmann (1970).
A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2026, at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. Fr. Roy Horning will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Robert Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Caterer Family (formerly Rossell) Funeral Home, 307 E. Main St. Flushing, MI and 10 a.m. Monday at the church until the time of the service at 11 a.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. |
