John William Harold Welch, Age 93, of Flint Michigan, passed away July 6, 2026 at 6:40 AM. A family only celebration of life will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 901 Garland St. Flint, MI 48503. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. John and Kaleb Welch officiating. John was born in Waldenburg, Arkansas on March 24, 1933. John is the son of late Rauliegh Welch and Alice Toddy Welch. He worked at the Flint Chevrolet Engine Plant from September 1956 to August 1987. He was a very proud, quiet, private person. He enjoyed listening to country and western music, watching science fiction and comedy films, and he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children: John LaWayne (Kay) Welch, of Burton, MI. Charlotte (Phillip) Cooper of Grand Blanc, MI. Joan Welch of Flint, MI. Cynthia (Bill) Welch of Flint, MI. Lorie (Mary) Welch of Nehalem, OR. His sister Linda Slater from California, and several nieces and nephews. Grandchildren include John (Melissa) Welch II, Candace (Cody) Duggan, Brandi Welch, Micheal (Nicole) Watkins, Barbara (Anthony) Crump, Nicole Cooper, Joseph Giordano, and Curtis Giordano. Great Grandchildren include Ella Baum, Elisha Welch, Jesse Vanderpool, Autum Vanderpool, Kaleb Welch, Oliver Welch, Olivia Powell, and Harper Watkins. John was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Norman Welch, Jerry Welch, and sister Joy Connell. Also preceded in death by his grandchild Edward Secord, Great Grandchild Benjamin Duggan, and former wife Margaret Childers. |
