Glen Junior Love, age 96 of Bancroft Michigan passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at First Congregational Church of Bancroft, 217 S. Shiawassee St., Bancroft, MI 48414. Pastors Todd Evans and Mike McDonald will co-officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 PM at the church.
Born in Bancroft Michigan on March 9th, 1929, Junior lived a long and full life dedicated to his family and his faith. Junior graduated from Byron High School in 1946 and was also a graduate of Michigan State Agricultural College, now known as Michigan State University. He was a true Spartan!
Junior moved to the family farm at 8 years old in 1937, where he resided for the rest of his life until his passing. In his early years, he was a dairy farmer. While farming he also worked at the Love Funeral Home in Bancroft where he worked with his cousin Bill. He made his first ambulance call at the age of 14 all by himself. He later went to work and retired from Simplicity Engineering in Durand, Michigan.
Junior was an active and the oldest member of the FirstCongregational Church of Bancroft. Junior was on several county planning committees, was a volunteer worker at the Gull Lake Bible Conference in Hickory Corners, he was a member of the Owosso Kiwanis and was a member of the Farm Bureau. His hobbies included deer hunting and travelling to the Upper Peninsula in northern Michigan.
Junior married Janis Ann “Peg” Walamaki on January 27, 1951in Lansing. They raised four children on the family farm in Bancroft. Junior is survived by Karen (Mike) Heiple, Kris (Jerry) Lostracco, Bill (Becky) Love, and Jim (Diane) Love. He had 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Junior was preceded in death by his parents Glen in 1985 and Ruby in 1965, his stepmother Mildred, his wife Janice in 2003, and his daughter-in-law Debra Love.
Memorials are suggested to the First Congregational Church of Bancroft.
The family wishes to thank the 10th floor staff of Sparrow Hospital and McLaren Hospice of Davison.
