STADLER, Gerald E. – of Clio, age 90, died peacefully at home on Friday, March 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Bethany United Methodist Church – 353 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Kayla Roosa officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Bethany United Methodist Church.

Gerald was born on April 16, 1933, to the late Norton and Lucy (Morgan) Stadler. He graduated from Beecher High School in 1951, and shortly after, married the love of his life, Kathleen Stadler. Together they shared a beautiful 74 years, a true testament of companionship, love, and devotion. Throughout his years, Gerald was an active and dedicated member of the Clio community. He served as the Vienna Township Treasurer for over two decades, contributed to various community organizations such as the Clio Lions Club, Vienna Township BDA, and Vienna Lodge #205 F&AM in Clio. Gerald also volunteered as a firefighter, always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. His active involvement with Bethany United Methodist Church was profound, where he selflessly served in numerous capacities, reflecting his deep faith and commitment to his community. Gerald's interests and passions were as varied as they were meaningful. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and creating beautiful pieces of art through painting. Known for his warm and welcoming demeanor, Gerald never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for engaging with others. Above all, his unwavering love for his family is where he found his greatest joy. Time spent with his children and grandchildren enriched his life beyond measure. Gerald absolutely adored his wife and cherished his time spent with her, particularly their numerous adventures traveling - especially to Hawaii, a place they visited on 39 separate occasions, forming lasting friendships and creating countless cherished memories.

Surviving are: Wife, Kathleen Stadler; Sons: Kendall (Tracy) Stadler, and Norton (Phyllis) Stadler; Daughter in law, Sandy Stadler; Unofficial adopted son, Mark (Eleanor) Herhold, and daughter, Sophie; Grandchildren: David (Charity) Stadler, James (Becky) Stadler, Michelle Lakin, Brian Stadler, Kali (Jordan) McGowan, Jessica (Rob) Edney, and Kristina Coury; Great grandchildren: Maddie Holifield, Caleb Stadler, and Katie Lakin; Many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and dear friends. Gerald was also preceded in death by: Son, Randy Stadler; Sisters and brothers in law: Mabel & Raymond Cloutier, Wayne & Judy Stadler, Jess & Phyllis Stadler, and Mildred & Mike Crame.
