MORALES, Estella “Poncho” – of Burton, age 81 passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at McLaren Lapeer. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Ernesto Alaniz officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM-8 PM Friday and 10- 11 AM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Estella was born in Flugaville, TX on February 23, 1937, daughter of the late John and Nancy (Gonzalas) Torrez. She married Henry Morales on October 7, 1952 and he preceded her in death in 2016 after 65 years of marriage. Estella retired from GM in 1987. She enjoyed cooking tamales and enchiladas as well as family get togethers and going for rides with her family. Estella loved BINGO and traveling.
Estella is survived by her children, Martin Morales, Henry II “Rick” (Estela) Morales, Sylvia (Jose) Hinojosa, Celia “Sally” (Terry) Adkins, David Morales, Daniel Morales; 19 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; twin brother, Joe (Lola) Torrez. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Derek Hinojosa; siblings, Aurora, John, Raymond, Mary and Jesse.
