CAMPBELL, James T., Sr.– of Davison, MI, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Per James’ wishes, cremation has taken place, a Celebration of Life is being planned for a future date.
James was born in Calhoun, GA on October 14, 1943, son of the late Joe and Sarah “Ruth” (Taylor) Campbell. He married Gail L. Stevens on May 5, 1962, in Flint. He retired from General Motors in 1994. James was not afraid to learn new skills and became a “jack of all trades” through many do it yourself projects. His family and friends knew that help was just a phone call away, no matter if it was day or night. His joy of playing musical instruments and singing was passed on to both of his sons. In addition to his helpfulness, his family will lovingly remember him for giving his “Papa talks”.
James is survived by his loving wife, Gail Campbell; son, William (Deanna) Campbell; daughter-in-law, Keli Campbell; grandchildren, James T. (Sarah) Campbell III, Jeffrey (Shellie) Campbell, Timothy Campbell, Anthony (Emily Glosch) Campbell, Melissa (Christopher) Jones; great-grandchildren, Amelia and Cameron Jones, Lucille Campbell, with one more on the way; sisters, Sarah Jo Dill, Shelby Dill, and Charlotte (Floyd) Stephens; many other loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Joe and Sarah “Ruth” Campbell, James was preceded in death by his son, James T. Campbell, Jr.
