O’DELL, Kenneth Arthur – of Flint, MI, age 93, passed away peacefully with family by his side Friday, June 27, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Wednesday, July 2, 2025 and 12-1 PM Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation, East Side Senior Center or the Davison Senior Center, in Ken’s memory.

Kenneth was born in Richfield Center, MI on August 19, 1931, son of the late Floyd and Hazel (Fellows) O’Dell. He was a lifetime resident of this area, graduating from Davison High School Class of 1949. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army 187th Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954. On December 2, 1950, Ken married his high school sweetheart, Jacqueline Selby and she preceded him in death on July 4, 2006. Ken was a member of the U.A.W. Local #659. He retired as a Pipefitter from General Motors Chevrolet Manufacturing in 1981 after 31 years of service. Ken had many hobbies tinkering and fixing things, square dancing, traveling, camping, softball, and most recently golfing, bowling, puzzles and a good game of Euchre. He enjoyed playing the ukulele and singing with his grandchildren.

Ken is survived by his 3 children, Kathy Blue, Bruce (Sandra) O’Dell and Tim (Carrie) O’Dell; 5 grandchildren, Holly (David) Briedis, Leslie (Gary) King, Heather O’Dell, Kathryn (Billy) Smith and Michelle (Corbin) Pew; “Papa Great” and “Great Papa” to his 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Detta O’Dell; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Shirley) Selby; many other loving family members and good friends. Affectionately known as “The Big Kahuna” to his special companion for the last 15 years, Kathy Wicker and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Hazel O’Dell; wife of 55 years, Jacqueline O’Dell; son-in-law, John Blue; 4 siblings, Frances Anthony, Dick O’Dell, Bob O’Dell and Pat (Mona) O’Dell.

The family would like to extend a very sincere thank you to his Absolute Hospice nurse, Cheryl, for her comfort and care during this time.
