BLIGHT, Donald Dairell – of Clio, age 91, died Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio. Rev. Cathi Huvaere officiating. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, and at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bethany United Methodist Church or McLaren Hospice.
Donald was born August 12, 1930 in Montrose, Michigan to the late Norman and Doris (Feller) Blight. He grew up in Clio, Michigan and graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1950. Donald attended Flint Junior College. He served his country in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement in 1993, Donald worked for Citizens Bank as the Vice President of Branch Managers with 37 years of service. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and a founding member of the Clio Country Club where he helped build hole # 9. Donald enjoying golfing, and was a Detroit Redwings, Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions fan. He was a Mason with the Masonic Lodge # 205 and a member of the Shriners.
Surviving are: Significant other, Sherry Baker; Children, Julie (John) McConnell, Terezia (Matt) Dunn; Grandchildren, Britny Wilson, Hannah (Christopher) Joslin, Jacob McConnell, Chris Dunn, Kirstie (Blake) Parks, Kylie Dunn, Kacie Burnham; Great Grandchildren, Asher, Rey, Mila, Kenleigh, Florence, Oliver; Sister in law, Donna Blight; Nieces, Ann Blight, Gail (Jon) Love, Mary (Kelly) Buchholz; Nephew, Matt (Sandy) Blight; several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Great Grandson, Archie Wheeler; Brother, Norman Blight Jr.; Great Niece, Brittany Buchholz.
