Janice Faye Webb-Brown affectionally called “Faye” was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on February 18, 1947 to Willie Jonathan Webb and Georgia Annie Barber. She later moved to Flint, Michigan with her family in 1955.
She graduated from Flint Northwestern High School in in 1965, one of the first graduates of Northwestern. After graduation she worked at Kilbourn Drug Store and became a manager at Kroger’s supermarket in Mount Morris. She later attended school to become a medical assistant where she was hired by Pontiac General Hospital working in the emergency room as a Phlebotomist.
Faye married Nathaniel Arkwright and from this union a daughter was born, Natalie. Both proceeded her in death. She later met and married her best friend Patrick Brown who also proceeded her in death.
She loved to play cards, being exceptionally good at poker, bid whist, and spades. She was also very good at a game of dominoes. As with most of the brothers and sisters, she really hated to lose and showed it! She was in a bowling league for many years and received numerous bowling trophies. She had a passion for barbecuing and would BBQ any time, day, night, or season!
Faye became ill some years ago with a multitude of problems and was placed on dialysis in 2018. With the sudden passing of her partner in 2019, Arthur Crutchfield, her health seem to diminish. Following many visits to hospitals and nursing homes in 2019 and 2020, she was placed in at-home hospice care at her request.
She was proceeded in death by her mother and father, brother, Russell Webb, Sisters, Ruby Bryant and Verais Duke, very close nephews, Leon and Tremaine Bryant and Jonathan Webb, nieces, Tonya Webb and Mitcheal Jackson, and sister-in-law Marva Jo Webb.
She leaves to cherish her memory, granddaughters, Ranisha (Edward) Vanderson and Sirena Arkwright, grandson, E’Shiaya Arkwright, great-grandsons, Amir Daniel Robinson and Maceo Vaughn Beckley, siblings, Aubrey (Andrew) Jackson, Jonathan (Doris) Webb, Rudolph Webb, Nelsenior (Leslie) Smith, & Millicent Nunn, and Sister-in-law, Emma Webb, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Special thanks to Flint Hurley Hospital Staff, especially Nurse Practitioner Diane Welker, Southfield Providence Hospital and Grand Blanc Regency Nursing Home, and The Medical Team Hospice Staff for their care of Faye during her illness. Also, family members and friends who took time to visit and/or prepare for her at-home hospice.
The family is at a loss once again with the passing of Faye! You will be greatly missed by all, especially your family! May you rest now in peace!
