Karen Meredith, age 84, passed away at her home in Flushing on Wednesday, September 24th, 2025. Cremation has taken place and a private service will be at a later date. Donations can be made to The Flushing Christian Outreach Center.
Karen was born in Flint, MI on March 7th, 1941, the daughter of Raymond and Mamie (Kruse) Dennis. Later in life Karen was able to meet and get to know her biological mom, Edna Spinney. Karen grew up in Swartz Creek graduating from Swartz Creek High School in 1959. She worked as a Medical Transcriptionist in the laboratory at Mclaren Hospital from 1959 to 1967. Mclaren is where she met her husband Fred, and they were married on September 18th, 1965. For the past 60 years they have resided in Flushing where they raised a family of 2 boys and many pets, all the while showing true love and compassion for each other. After Fred’s retirement in 2000, they enjoyed many years traveling throughout Michigan and countless miles of bike riding together.
Karen is survived by her husband and devoted caregiver, Fred; sons, Kevin (Wendy) Meredith of Flushing and Todd (Jill) Meredith of Alegan; grandsons, Bryce Meredith and Carson Meredith; and sister-in-law, Sandy Motes. She was preceded in death by their son, Mark. A special thank-you to Dr Kiran and Karen’s care team at Mclaren Hospice. |
