MCKENZIE, Wilfred C. – of Davison, age 91, went home to be with his Lord on November 7, 2015 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at First Baptist Church, 208 E. 4th St., Davison ; Pastor Chris Radcliffe officiating. Burial will be in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison and 10-11 AM Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, 820 N. LaSalle Blvd., Chicago, IL 60610.
Wilfred was born in Argyle, New Brunswick, Canada on January 7, 1924, son of the late Malcolm and Lillian (Jones) McKenzie. He married Ernestine Nichols on August 30, 1952 and she preceded him in death on March 29, 2001. Wilfred graduated from New Brunswick teachers College, Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Temple University in PA and did graduate work at University of Michigan. He was a member of Davison First Baptist Church, was a principal at Flint Christian Schools for six years and was a middle school history teacher at Davison Schools for 19 years before retiring and enjoying camping in Florida and Colorado. Wilfred will be fondly remembered by all of his students and friends.
