TREMBLAY, Raymond J. – Of Grand Blanc, age 79, died Monday, December 15, 2014 at Durand Senior Care & Rehab Center.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Old Newsboys.
Visitation 12-2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Ray was born in Flint, Michigan on October 11, 1935, the son of the late Tony and Annie Tremblay.
He graduated from Bendle High School.
Ray married Carol Amlott on April 13, 1957 in Grand Blanc.
Ray trained and coached the Grand Blanc Boxers; refereed and fought the Golden Gloves.
Mr. Tremblay retired from General Motors-Grand Blanc Tank Plant after 44 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #1292.
Surviving are wife, Carol;
three daughters, Ilene and husband Rick Ramberg of Swartz Creek,
Terry Tremblay of Flint and
Denise Denam of Millington;
five grandchildren, Melissa (Bryan) Furnace,
Leah (Jim) Mackrell,
Bobby Denam,
Jeremy Ramberg and Ray Denam;
two great-grandchildren, James Mackrell and Jackson Furnace;
four brothers;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nova Marie Tremblay; great-granddaughter, Kaiya Lynn Furnace; one brother and one sister,
