Edwin E. Luke (January 18, 1931 - May 9, 2025), age 94, passed away May 9, 2025, peacefully in his home, surrounded by family. Ed was an "outstanding" husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He attended Northern High School where he met the love of his life, Nancy. After high school, Ed attended Michigan State University on an R.O.T.C. scholarship, where he played football from 1948-1952. During that time, he was second All American and played in the National Championship in 1952. Ed went on to play football for the Army, where he served as a Second Lieutenant.
Ed and Nancy were married in 1953 and settled in Flint. There they were blessed with five children: Edwin, John (Heidi), Janine (Steve), William (Tammy) and Thomas. Those children went to bring them nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was highly regarded and well respected during his vast career of 50 years in the brokerage industry. Ed ended his career as a Regional Manager and member of the board of directors for A.G. Edwards and Sons, Inc. During this time, he was also very active in his community, serving on various boards.
Ed was a man of few words with a quick wit. He had a passion for cooking, tending to his plants, music and a good book. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, and his sons, John and Tom. |
