GILLETT, Joanne Elizabeth – of Flushing, age 64, passed away watching Hallmark Movies surrounded by her family. Mass of Resurrection will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 14, 2025 at St. Robert Catholic Church. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. A Rosary will be prayed at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Joanne was born November 9, 1960, in Flint, Michigan to Earl and Dolores (Palacios) Black. Joanne grew up in Flint, Michigan and graduated from Powers Catholic High School with the class of 1978. On September 24, 1988 she married John Gillet in Flint, Michigan. Joanne worked for the State of Michigan as a Manager of the GOA’s with DHS with 10 years of service. She owned and operated Jojosgotit crafting business and did several craft shows in the area. Joanne loved fishing and spending time at the family cabin on Rose Lake. She enjoyed going to yard sales and her dogs.
Surviving are: Husband, John Gillett; Children, Jonathan Gillett, Megan (Chris Land) Gillett; Mother, Dolores Black; Mother in law, Beverly Gillett; Siblings, Thomas (Jennifer) Black, Roxanne (Rick) Eberts; Sister in law, Barb (Brian) Walton, Kathy Wentz; Brothers in law, Michael Gillett, Tom (Lori) Gillett, Pat (Mary Ann) Gillett, Don (Claire) Gillett; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
