ATHERTON, Celia Mary of Davison age 72, went home to the Lord Saturday August 13, 2011 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Thursday August 18, 2011 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating; with private burial at New Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 1:00-3:00 and 5:30- 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. A parish scripture will be held at 6:30 pm Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions in Celia’s memory to the Genesee County Humane Society. Celia was born in Flint, Michigan March 3, 1939 the daughter of the late; Ramon & Guadalupe (Verdusco) Jimenez, and has lived in the Davison area since 1971. She was joined in marriage to David Atherton on September 12, 1959 at St Matthew Catholic Church, Flint and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Davison. Celia enjoyed many years working with Ken’s Kustom Kitchens and as a manager at Showcase Cinemas. She leaves to cherish her memory adoring husband, David, daughter Deborah Atherton, son, Scott (Donna) Atherton, grandchildren, Chase, Tyler, and Samantha. Brothers, Fred (Noemi) Jimenez; Raymond Jimenez and friend Pat; sister in laws: Becky Jimenez and Betty Atherton, and many much loved her nieces and nephews.
