NEWLON, William Paul – of Davison, age 74, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at his residence. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, November 2, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. The family will receive visitors 4-8 PM Friday, November 1, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. A Scripture Service will be held at 6 PM on Friday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Outreach East, or a charity of one’s choice.
William was born in Flint, MI on March 20, 1945, son of the late William Bryant and Margaret (Odoran) Newlon. He honorably served in the US Army Reserves. William married Kay Arden Chapman on June 14, 1968 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Morris, MI. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison since 1970. William retired from Consumers Energy Gas Operations in 2006 after 35 years of service.
William is survived by his wife, Kay Newlon; sons, Brian (Cherry) Newlon, Eric (Jennifer) Newlon; grandchildren, Kristine (Nathan Wood) Newlon, Olivia Newlon, Bryant Newlon, Ryan Newlon and Gavin Newlon; brother, Joseph (Suzanne) Newlon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas (Sherry) Chapman, Mark Chapman, Beth Chapman, Ronald (Karen) Murphy, Aaron (Janice) Wiles, David (Kim) Quinn, Craig (Stacy) Chapman, Donna Newlon, John Trzil and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stephen Newlon; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Trzil and Corinne Chapman. The family wishes to thank Heart to Heart Hospice staff- Stacy, Ondrea, Lisa, Linda and Paul for their loving and compassionate care.
