Van Norman, Doyle D. - Age 86, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, July 16, 2021. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 23, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Michael Cheng officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association or to a charity of your choice.
Doyle was born July 17, 1934 in Flint, the son of Lyman and Estella (Parrott) Van Norman. He attended Flint Central High School. He married Carol Ann Owens June 9, 1951 in Flint and she preceded him in death January 19, 2001. He had resided in Swartz Creek since 1973 coming from Fenton. Doyle retired in 1989 from GM Truck and Bus in Flint after 38 years of service. He was a real "American Picker" and he enjoyed classic cars and trucks.
Surviving are: 3 children, Michael (Shelley) Van Norman of Fenton, Deborah Shreeve of Swartz Creek, and Stephen (Connie) Van Norman of Romulus; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen Trigg; brother, Donald Van Norman; and sisters, Beatrice Wilbur and Jeanette Runnals. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
