GLADYS DIEHL, age 95, of Mt. Morris died Sunday September 2, 2018, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday September 7, 2018 at Richfield Church of the Nazarene corner of Mt. Morris and Irish Rd. with Pastor Alan Duce Officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery, Otisville. The family will receive visitors Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Mumford –Hudson Funeral Home in Otisville from 4-8PM and again on Friday at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Richfield Church of the Nazarene Missions. Gladys was born on June 29, 1923 in Clio, MI., the daughter of Wallace and Mable Smith. She graduated Salutatorian from Otisville High School. She married Chester Diehl on May 5, 1943. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2016. She worked for a brief period of time as a custodian for the Township offices in Genesee and also at the Library. Gladys was a Member of the Richfield Church of the Nazarene; she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Junior Church Leader for many years in previous churches. She enjoyed watching the birds and animals that lived on her farm. Surviving are her two children: Marilyn White of Mt. Morris and Duane (Clara) Diehl of Mt. Morris; her beloved grand dog Karl, and many special nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester, son in-law Gary White, and all of her siblings: Lulu, Leslie, Hilton, Ella, Beula, and step brothers Varion and Byron, step sister Jesse.
