Dale L. Marlowe

Born: 11/13/1944
Died: 1/20/2026
Age: 81
Community: Grand Blanc, MI

Dale L. Marlowe, 81 yrs of age, entered into the presence of the Lord on January 20, 2026 after a battle with colon cancer. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and attended Berean Baptist Church since 1993.

Dale was born to Melvin (died-2003) and Maxine Marlowe (died-2013) on November 13, 1944 in Goodrich, Michigan. When Dale was 6 yrs of age, he was stricken with Bulbar polio (a form of paralytic poliomyelitis that attacks the brainstem, damaging the nerve centers that control swallowing and speaking) and was in an iron lung for a time. His parents had to stand outside of the hospital to look through the window of his room while they prayed. The entire church they were attending prayed fervently. After a few days of treatment the doctor told his parents he was getting worse. However, the doctor informed them that there was a new vaccine not yet available to the general public. The doctor made arrangements for the vaccine to be flown in from Missouri. The Salk vaccine was given and Dale began to improve. After about 2 weeks Dale was sent home to continue therapy and return for a follow up in 2 additional weeks. Upon returning to the doctor, and after an examination, the doctor turned to Dale’s parents and said “Mr. & Mrs. Marlowe, I am unable to find any evidence that this child has ever had polio”. His parents dropped to their knees and thanked God for His mercy.

Dale grew up on a farm and learned responsibility early on. He loved to push his younger brother around in a wagon to see the thrill on his face as they travelled. He loved to work hard. He attended Holly High School and later attended college at Ypsilanti Business College as well as Oakland Community College. After graduating, he pursued a career in finance with General Motors and subsequently as a consultant for Electronic Data Systems.

In 1978, Dale met Marlene, a match truly made in heaven. Dale’s children are Stephen, Kenneth, and Michelle Marlowe (Lounsbery). Dale & Marlene were almost inseparable and prized each other’s company. He was a servant to God, first and foremost. He loved the church and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible. He was a helper and encourager to many who were in need and is remembered as a most kind and loving fellow Christian. He participated in many roles in the church over the years.

Dale is survived by his wife, Marlene, and his daughter Michelle Lounsbery (spouse Keith) …..and two sons, Stephen and Kenneth. Several direct family members also survive him: his brother, Danny, and spouse Inez….his brother, Gayle, and spouse Linda…… his sister, Rose Yahng, and spouse Steve ….. and his other sister, Merry Cookston, and her spouse Joe.

One of Dale’s favorite verses was: Isaiah 26:3 KJV “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee”.

He now rests in the arms of his Savior.
