SMITH, David M. –Passed away at home on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born in Flint, Michigan on September 16, 1937, the son of the late Arlen and Marilois Smith. David was married for 70 years to his high school sweetheart Jeanette Tamraz.
His first and lasting love was his family.
He enjoyed and dedicated himself to his career in the commercial and industrial sanitary supply business, first servicing in the capacity of sales then as general manager. He finished his career as owner of a small chemical supply company.
David was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law Alex and Sarah Tamraz; brother, Daniel Smith; sister Susan Cooper. Others who proceeded him in death were his brothers-in-law, Paul Tamraz, Robert Snyder; sister-in-law, Phyllis Tamraz Snyder. All whom he loved as his own siblings.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette; daughters, Karen (Robert) Wolfbrandt and Laura Smith; grandchildren, Alexa Wolfbrandt, Rob (Mandi) Wolfbrandt, Lynn (Dan) Michels; great grandchildren, Saffron Wolfbrandt and Maverick Michels; sisters-in-law, Jane (Mike) Tamraz Marchak, Nancy Tamraz, and Jan Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Reverend Glenn Grant officiating.
Visitation 3-6pm Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the funeral home.
Private burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
