Ms. Yancho was born to Gertrude (Maxwell) and William Rak in Flint, Michigan, on March 31, 1937. She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1955 and subsequently worked at Bell Telephone. She married Thomas Joseph Yancho, Sr. on April 25, 1959, and together they raised a family of six children who, along with her grandchildren, were her pride and joy in life. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and camping as well as staying at the family vacation home on Houghton Lake. Her kind, nurturing, and loving nature endeared her to everyone, especially to her large, extended family as she often played the role of “social director.” Ms. Yancho exhibited a quiet strength and resilience in her soft-spoken, gentle demeanor, which perfectly mirrored her husband’s character. She will be sorely missed but celebrated by all who knew and loved her. Ms. Yancho is survived by daughter Catherine and husband Kyle Radka of Flushing; son Thomas Jr. of Flushing; daughter Susan and husband Matthew Wendling of Flushing; son James and wife Kristina of Flushing; daughter Carol Yancho of New York City; son-in-law Steven Brody of Swartz Creek; and eight grandchildren: Patricia Yancho and her boyfriend Dennis Johnson and grandson Patrick Brody; Emily, Madalyn, Sarah and Taylor Wendling; Kayla and Samantha Yancho; great granddaughter Cheryllynn; brothers William and Herbert Rak as well as numerous beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter Cheryl Brody, her loving husband Thomas Yancho, her brother John Rak, her parents, and several in-laws. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers: Peggy Johnson, Becki Lucia, Marcy Collins, and Frann Parker, the team at Regency at Grand Blanc, and Dr. Jacky Duong.
