CONANT, Kathryn “Kate” Elaine – of Flint, Michigan, age 40, made her ascent to Heaven on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Picnic will be announced on a later date. In lieu of flowers, Kate would like donations to the Every Nation Church AG Storehouse food ministry.
Kate was born on January 31, 1986, to parents Gregory and Patricia Conant in Flint, Michigan. She grew up in a close family where she enjoyed camping with her deaf/mute grandfather, Papa Louie, so she became proficient in sign language at young age. Kate loved camping at Big Bend Campground with Louie and her family with The Deaf Sportsman Club of Michigan. She loved summer trips to Harrisville State Park each year of her childhood. Kate loved boating and swimming with her Papa Al and playing endless puzzle games with her Grandma Lee. She attended Flint Southwestern Academy where she was a champion at doubles tennis, graduating in 2004. Kate was always cooking and gardening with her mom, her best friend. Friends and family were Kate’s whole world. Her young adult life consisted of nursing classes where she studied to become a phlebotomist, going to concerts, singing karaoke, going dancing with friends, and traveling. She worked with the Ignite ministries at Riverside Tabernacle while also waitressing to put herself through school. Utilizing her knowledge of sign language, she later worked at Michigan School for the Deaf as a Teachers Aide.
Sadly, her young adult life would be affected by a devastating major illness. She bravely persevered to improve herself over the last 11 years, but this disease has taken its toll. Recently, she worked with Every Nation Church (formally Riverside Tabernacle) at the Storehouse Food weekly give-out until she no longer could. We can take comfort that she rededicated her life back to the Lord Jesus.
Kate is survived by her father, Gregory Conant (Pam Earns); brother, Matthew (Emily) Conant; nephew, Michael and niece, Moira Conant (her cherished M&M’s); sister, Sarah Conant (Jim Spurgeon); childhood bonus-brother, Adam Smith; many other aunts, uncles, first and second cousins, and friends. She was preceded in the death by her mother, Patricia Kaye Conant; grandparents, Bobbe-Jean Conant, Alvin Conant, Leotta (Lee) Ploucha-Conant, Louis Krawczak (Sydney); uncle, Greg Krawczak; cousin, Robin Turton; aunt, Gaye Turton (Grams); nephew, Alan Conant and several other loving relatives.
