BOWEN, EMILEE D. –
Of Mt. Morris, age 85, is now enjoying the gentle breezes and the abundant clean fresh air of heaven since Tuesday April 23, 2024 when she passed at her residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Dennis Boyce officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Visitation 1 p.m.- 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2024 and 12 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024 until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Emilee was born in Huntington, WV on November 17, 1938, the daughter of Norman and Ella Davis and was a resident of Mt. Morris since 1979.
On November 28, 1958 she married Reverend Jack E. Bowen and she co-ministered with him for 51 years.
She owned and operated two businesses: The Bread of Life Bookstore in Trotwood, Ohio from 1975 to 1978 and Golden Acres Adult Foster Care Home from 1983 to 2004. After which she and her husband provided medical transportation and were known as “Angels of Flint”.
She was mother of four, grandmother to 14, great grandmother of 26.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack E. Bowen, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Survived by four children, LaRonda and Husband Jesse England, Jack “Ace” Bowen, Jeff and wife Kathy Bowen and Vicki Willard;
sisters, Phyllis and husband James Boyce and Janice Boyce; brother, Daniel and wife Barbara;
also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
