STANLEY, Gerald “Gary” Levi – of Coleman, formerly of Clio, age 75 died Friday, June 18, 2021 at Mid Michigan Hospital in Midland. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Clio. Pastor Darrel Manning officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for future designation.
Gary was born June 8, 1946 in Petoskey, Michigan to the late Ernest and LaVada (Squires) Stanley. He grew up in Michigan and graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1965. Gary served his country in the US Army. He received his Associate Degree in Machine Repair from Mott Community College. He married Yong Cha Kim and she preceded him in death in 2012. On April 12, 2014 he married Yong Cha Cho in Clio, Michigan. Prior to his retirement from GM, Gary was a Machine repairman with 42 years of service. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, VFW Post # 1452, Clio Eagles Aerie 3609, and the American Legion Post # 158. Gary enjoyed restoring old cars, painting, listen to music and singing. He also liked to plow his garden and breed Chow Dogs.
Surviving are: Wife, Yong Cha Stanley; Step-Children, Vicki Witmer, Gerald Witmer; Step-Grandchildren, Jovani Witmer, Anthony Witmer, Danielle Athey, Christopher Athey, Erica Pettinaro; Siblings, Roger (Sharon) Stanley, Rita Stanley, Sharon (Dennis) Manwell, Ruth (Mike) Patterson; several nieces and nephews; Special Friends, John Atkinson, Gary Gee, Lisa (Clarence) Barnard.
