Mildred A. Smith, 89, of Mesa, AZ formerly of Alpha, Illinois died Sunday March 6, 2011 In Mesa. Cremation has been accorded and services are 10:00 AM Saturday at the Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Alpha. Burial is in the Alpha cemetery. Friends may greet the family at the Oxford American Legion Post 1197 in Alpha following the interment. She was born November 5, 1921 in Aledo to Thomas and Emma Krueger McKee. She graduated from the Oxford Township High School in 1939 and married Fred R. Smith September 14th, 1941 in Kahoka, MO. He died June 2, 1976
Mildred was employed at Servus Rubber in Rock Island retiring in 1987. She enjoyed spending quality family time with her grandchildren great grandchildren and friends.
Survivors include grandsons, Shawn Smith of Alpha, IL. Shane Smith of Mesa and 3 great grandchildren Morgan Carter and Hunter Smith.
Her parents, husband and 2 sons Thomas William and Larry Lee Smith preceded her in death
