WASSON, Charles Wayne - age 83, passed away September 3, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:30 PM Monday, September 22, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. The family will receive friends from 11 AM - 1:30 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Toni & Trish House, 4699 11 Mile Rd, Auburn, MI 48611. Charles was born February 3, 1942 in Malden, Missouri, the son of Edmun H. and Anna M. (Baxter) Wasson. He married Patricia Vsetula on December 19, 1964 in Flint, Michigan. They were married for 60 years. Charlie was a car salesman for many years in the Flint area working for Tom Gleason and Eli Chinonis Chrysler. He owned his own car lot, “Airport Used Cars” and was a part owner of The Wagon Wheel Saloon. Charlie was a faithful member of the West Court Street Church of God in Flint where he would volunteer at the St. Louis Campground or put up the Live Nativity for West Court. Charlie loved to support his boys in all their endeavors from: riding dirt bikes, long weekend wrestling tournaments, cold hockey rinks, and football fields across the county cheering Mickey and Matt on! He enjoyed buying cars and trucks, doing some light work to make it shine and sell it. Charlie enjoyed his retirement riding his Harley and traveling with Pat from Maine to Florida and out West. Grandpa Charlie loved being with his grandchildren. He would rock them to sleep when they were babies, push them in the swing and play for many hours on the floor with their toys. He was always up for a fierce game of UNO. Surviving are: wife, Pat; Son, Mickey, wife Karen, grandchildren, Sophia, Lilly; Son, Matt, wife Elisabeth, grandchildren, Anna, Jane, and Henry; Siblings, Kay Williamson, brothers in law, Larry Williamson and Dan Parker, sister in law, Jan Wasson; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: Brothers, Ed Gibson, Bill and Don Wasson; Sisters, Minnie Lou Riddles, Patty Wasson, June Parker, Shirley Oliver, infant brother Mickey and parents.
