Age 84, of Clio, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at home with family by his side. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Neil’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.
Neil Hulsether Jr. was born on February 8, 1941, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. Neil Hulsether and Mrs. Helen (Barlow) Housden. Neil attended Atherton High School, then began his career at General Motors. Being skilled in the trade, Neil worked as a repairman, as well as many other roles during his 30 years of service before his well-earned retirement in 1995. Neil met, fell in love with, and married the love of his life, Elaine Self on November 12, 1960. The two were blessed with a son that Neil would cherish deeply.
In his free time, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, as well as the University of Michigan and Detroit sports teams. Additionally, Neil would find joy in his time outdoors while hunting and fishing. Most of all, Neil loved spending time with his family and creating new memories with those he loved most.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 65 years: Elaine Hulsether; his son: Don and wife, Sue Hulsether; his grandchildren: Sondra and husband, Steve Hirzel, Marc Hulsether and Krystal; his great-grandchildren: Sophia, Matthew, Talon, Mason; as well as his nieces and nephew: Dawn, Doug, Dana, Cathy, and Karen; and his close friend: Pat Hurst.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents: Neil Hulsether and Helen Housden; and his sister: Beth Woollard. |
