Jerome "Jerry" Richard Auger Jr., of Manton, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. He was 67.
Jerry was born on December 17, 1958 to Jerome and Sharon (Perry) Auger Sr. in Flint, Michigan. After graduating high school, Jerome went on to receive a Bachelor's degree from Ferris State University. Following his education, Jerome dedicated his professional life to the automotive industry, serving as a District Sales Manager for General Motors throughout Northern Michigan for more than 25 years. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he built over the course of his career, remaining with General Motors until his retirement. In 1986 in Las Vegas Jerry married the love of his life, the former Kathleen O'Malley. Jerry loved being outdoors and found joy in life's simple pleasures. He could often be found behind the wheel enjoying a scenic drive, spending time hunting, or playing a round of golf with friends. A lifelong automotive enthusiast, he enjoyed tinkering with cars and was always willing to lend a helping hand or share his knowledge with others. In his quieter moments, Jerry enjoyed watching true crime television, with NCIS being among his favorite programs. He was also a devoted member of the Cadillac-Clam Lake Masonic Lodge #331, where he valued the fellowship and service that came with membership. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Jerome is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Auger; children, Jerry Auger III, Katrina (Ronald Young) Fargo, Dennis (Corrie) Auger, Krystal (Brooks Hutton) McFall, and Kassandra (Jason Jewell) Auger; grandchildren, Presley Phillips, Lucas Fargo, Gage Fargo, Noah Hill, Preston Young, Ronnie Young, Addison Auger, Nora Auger, Carter Auger, Mac Auger, and Sam Auger; mother, Sharon Auger; sister, Beth (Guy) Hissong; brother, Russ (Julie) Auger; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Auger Sr.; and a brother, Ron Auger.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 1 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 5151 Lennon Road, Flint, MI 48507. |
