Mary Kathleen ("Katie") Martin (Dupray), age 77, of Flushing, Michigan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
Katie was born to the late Walter and Mary (McCasey) Dupray in Boston, Massachusetts on November 5, 1943. She attended St. Mary's in Mount Clemens for grade school and high school. Katie later attended Marygrove College, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in English. In 1968, she married the love of her life, Thomas Martin, Jr, and they enjoyed over 45 years of marriage bliss together until his passing in 2015.
Katie was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed gardening and playing the piano. For a number of years, Katie sang in the church choir and she was also very active in the church. She loved spending time with her friends, and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Katie will be dearly missed by her loving family, and all who had the privilege to know her.
Katie leaves behind her loving children, Thomas III (Aprille) and Elizabeth; cherished grandchildren, Joseph (Elizabeth) and Brittany; precious great grandchild, Rio; dear siblings, Betsy, John (Cathie) and Nancy; special friends, Pat (Chuck) Erger and Sharon Richards; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Katie is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Thomas and many family members.
The family wishes to extend enormous gratitude to the talented and compassionate nurses, doctors and the entire medical staff at the University of Michigan.
The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021, from 11am to 1pm and again from 3pm to 5pm, at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Road, Flushing, MI. Following the visitation, the family will have a Rosary Service which will begin at 5pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 11am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, at 2415 Bagley St., Flint, MI.
