BOEGNER, Clara M. – of Flint, age 79, passed away surrounded by her family at her residence on July 29, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Alzheimer’s Association.
Clara was born in Crowder, MS on July 13, 1939, daughter of the late Thomas and Clara (Greer) Best. She married Norman Boegner on December 24, 1988 in Flint. Clara graduated from Flint Junior College in 1972 and worked as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the East Flint Lions Club and Ladies Auxiliary. Clara was an avid bowler, a state champion and became a member of the 200 club. She was also known as the “Bingo Queen.” Most of all, she loved camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Clara is survived by her husband, Norman Boegner; daughters, Terrie (Rick) Richardson, Julie Jacot, Peggy (Carl) Sheffer, Sandy (Dave) Jacot-Wood and Shelly (Rob) Owen; step-children, Debbie (David) Apfel, Danny (Susan) Goode, Norman W. (Paula) Boegner and Bonnie (Allan) Draper; grandchildren, Katrina Richardson, Desiree (Josh) Richardson, Whitney (Frank) Hartman, Chelsea Jacot, Andrew (Jenn) Sheffer, Kyle Sheffer, Hayley Owen, Alison Owen, Wyatt Owen, Alex Apfel, Jamie Apfel and Michaela Draper; great-grandchildren, Callie Richardson-Fuller, Kaila Abbott, Brooklyn Sheffer, Eli Jacot, Jonathan Hartman, Kolton Abbott and Kyler Abbott; siblings, Tommy, Sue, Linda and Beverly; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Reverence Home Health Hospice, especially Matt and Micki for the wonderful care. Also a special thank you to Valley Area Agency on Aging and Reformation – especially to caregiver, Reilly.
