Gloria was born on November 5, 1947, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Herman and Ruth (Gray) Jacobi. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the class of 1965. On March 18, 1967, Gloria married Wayne Pannett in Flint. Gloria supported Wayne during his time in the U.S. Navy and was a proud military wife. Together they raised three children and shared many wonderful years before Wayne’s passing on April 6, 2026. Gloria worked as a dietary aide at Clio Convalescent Home and later in retail at BonWorth in Birch Run. She was also a faithful member of Messiah Lutheran Church and TOPS Club. Gloria loved shopping, could get lost in a good book (especially her favorite, To Kill a Mockingbird), and spent a lifetime trying to cook, and while the results didn’t always turn out as planned, she never gave up. She believed in treating people fairly and cared about civil rights. Gloria was sassy, quick-witted, and always ready with a good comeback. She loved telling stories and was well known for her scary ghost stories. Above all, Gloria was a devoted wife, a loving mom, and a proud nana who cherished time with her family.
Surviving are: Children: Brian (Michelle) Pannett, Robert (Kim) Pannett, and Julie (James) Pannett-Hull; Grandchildren: Jessica Pannett, Marissa Pannett, Brian (Kayla) Pannett Jr., Ellia Pannett, Audrey Pannett, Savannah Pannett, Isabella Pannett, and Avani Pichette; Sister, Marilyn Dissen; Many loving nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends. Gloria was also preceded in death by: Sisters: Ruth Ann Dowd, Katherine Gifford, and Karen Griffin; Brother, Thomas Jacobi.
