CRATON, Robert Irving “Bob” - Of Grand Blanc, age 75, died Sunday, February 11, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation 4-8pm Wednesday and 10am Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Robert was born in Flint on September 9, 1942, the son of Harold and Hazel (Russ) Craton. On June 16, 1962, he married Margaret Carter in Flint and spent 55 years together. Robert served in the United States Air Force for four years. He was a member of Local #370 Pipefitter Union. His greatest love was his family and his grandchildren. Robert enjoyed sailing and working with his sons on the race car and driving his Camaro, which he loved.
Surviving are wife, Margaret (Maggie);
sons, Christopher (Terri) and Jeremy (Sharon);
daughter, Heather;
sister, Merilyn (Chuck) Case; brother, Jack Craton (Jill);
sister, Debbie (Ralph) Brazel;
grandchildren, Lauren, Todd, Adam, Cody, and Travis;
numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother Hazel and father Harold “Jack”.
