Charles Arthur Renner
Age 73 of New Lothrop passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016.
A Memorial service will be held at 5:00pm on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes New Lothrop Chapel. The family will receive friends that day from 3:00pm until the time of service.
Charles was born on May 3, 1942 to Roy and Ethel (Rye) Renner in Flint. He married the love of his life, Dolores Dakin on August 11, 1962; they celebrated 53 years together last August. Charles worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator, and he managed his own trucking business before retiring around 1985.
Throughout his life, Charles enjoyed working on anything with a motor: go-carts, race cars, and everything in between. He enjoyed building them and watching NASCAR racing on TV. Charles was known for his willingness to always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His first passion in life was always his family, especially his grandkids.
Charles is survived by his wife, Dolores; his children, Debbie (Ty) Lacy, Charles (Kim) Renner, Tammy (Greg) Skodinski, and Tim (Tammie) Renner; his 10 grandchildren, Randy (Aronica) Taylor, Ty "Skeeter" (Jennifer) Lacy, Brett (Jennifer) Taylor, Amanda Lacy and fiance Alex Bellinger, Connor Skodinski (Leandra Ruiz), Charles Renner III, Torrie Renner, Tim Renner, Terrin Renner, and Jacob Renner; his 5 great-grandchildren, Jayde, Bentley, Lexson, Braxen, and Daxton; his brothers and sisters, Tom (Gail) Renner, Jean James, Bea Cline, Tillie (Bruce) Whittier, and Royetta (Jerry) Ostipow; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
He is predeceased by his great-grandchild, Brady; his parents, and his brother, Richard Renner.
The family would like to give a special thanks to McLaren Hospital nurses on the 5th and 6th floor, Mercy Plus Home Healthcare, Valley Council on Aging, and VPA, Pinnacle Nursing.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Twin Township Ambulance of New Lothrop.
