ASHLEY, DONALD EDWARD – Of Flint, age 68, died Sunday June 15, 2025, at his residence.
Memorial service will be held at 11 am Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Pastor Jon Gildner officiating.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm on Wednesday June 18, 2025, at the funeral home.
Donald was born in Elkin, North Carolina, on July 17, 1956, the son of the late Willie Hugh and Mattie Gaye (Weatherman) Ashley. Donald retired from General Motors Assembly in 2019.Don was a loving father and grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life, especially during his time on Wixom Lake. Don took great pride in his home and loved having family and friends over to swim in the pool.
Surviving are daughter, Kim (Jake) Staley;
Grandchildren, Cooper and Nora
Brothers, Gary Ashley, Larry Ashley, Randy Ashley;
Sister, Sharon Swank.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael.
