TANNER, Barbara Jean – of Barton City, formerly of Montrose, age 86, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Medilodge of Montrose with family by her side. Funeral service will be held at 3PM Friday, April 20, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Friday from 11AM until time of service at 3PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
Barbara was born February 11, 1932 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Daniel and Esther (Scheffer) Sullivan. She grew up in Montrose and graduated from Montrose High School with the class of 1949. She married Robert Tanner on June 1, 1966. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1982. Barbara worked for AC with 32 years of service and was a member of the UAW Local #651. She was also a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Women’s Ladies Auxiliary #4141 in Barton City, Michigan. Barbara enjoyed camping, reading, snowmobiling, and traveling to Florida. Her greatest joys in life were her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are: Daughter, Sheila (Russell) Rockett; Grandchildren: Shawn (Rick) Goller, Kimberley (Fred) Siebert, Lisa (Gary) Hynds-Cooper, Stacey (Ryan) Somers; Great Grandchildren: Christopher, MaKenzie, Tyler, Alex, Jaydon, Joshua. She was also preceded in death by her: Siblings: Donald Sullivan, Jackie King; Special Partner, Donald King.
