Ploucha, Albert of Flushing, age 81, died Thursday, December 25, 2014, peacefully surrounded by his family. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Roy Horning will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Robert Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church until the time of the Mass. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Durand Senior Center.
Albert was born in Flint, Michigan on August 13, 1933, the son of Vincent and Katherine (Kamick) Ploucha. He married Mary Lucille Wagar on May 8, 1954, in Flint. Albert proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Buick Engineering. Albert was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church and Dom Polski. An avid Detroit Tiger fan, Albert also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He was a devoted husband to his wife of 60 years, Mary Lu, and she survives him. Albert is also survived by his children, Katherine and husband Kenneth Nerreter, Laura and husband Morris Richards, Michael and wife Kam Ploucha, Mark Ploucha, Cynthia and husband Timothy Norko, David and wife Marianne Ploucha; grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, Rebekah, Christopher, Molly, Vincent, Hannah, Miles, Sam, Jack; three very anticipated great-granddaughters; sister-in-law, Lee Conant; many nieces, nephews, cousins; close friend, Douglas Procunier. Albert was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, John, Mary, Eugene, Edward and Thomas. |
