WARSON, Herbert - Of Atlas, age 90, died Friday, November 16, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Butch Martin officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Visitation 3-8pm Sunday and 10am Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Herbert was born in Flint on November 7, 1928, the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Flannery) Warson. Herbert was employed at General Motors for 41 years, retiring in 1993. He was also a part-time police officer for 5 years in Atlas Township and then became Police Chief for an additional 5 years, retiring in 1981. Herbert was a member of Deliverance Tabernacle, enjoyed spending time outside on his farm and was an avid bird watcher.
Surviving are wife of 67 years, Veola Warson;
daughters, Laura (George) Williams and Valerie (Mark) Cowgill;
son, Jeffrey (Linda) Warson;
10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson;
brother, George Warson and sister Idamae Trudgen.
He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Warson and daughter, Dena Kay Kilbreath.
