TERRY, Dola – Of Flint, age 75, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Kevin Knox officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 1 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Dola was born in Rector, Arkansas on July 19, 1935, the daughter of the late Louis and Etta (England) Coffel. Dola enjoyed spending time with her children, playing cards, watching baseball and crafting. Mrs. Terry was employed by General Motors and Capital Coney Island for many years. Surviving are daughters, Kathy Kodat, Connie Finley, Christy (Larry) Brown;
son, Richard (Sue) Terry; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven sisters and two brothers, all of Arkansas. The family would like to thank the medical staff at Hurley Medical Center; a special thanks to Uyonka Rushing for her encouraging words, singing and prayers. Dola was preceded in death by siblings, Verna Bass, Virginia Clark, Leon Coffel; granddaughter, Sara Terry and son-in-law, Gordon Kodat. |
