Nancy Jo Corliss, age 83, of Flushing, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at her residence.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial following at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 4 at the funeral home and again from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Thursday. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis Foundation.
Nancy was born on September 13, 1943, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late Ernest and Helen (Amie) Slocum. She graduated from Flint Southwestern High School in 1961. Nancy worked as an engineer for Michigan Bell for 25 years, retiring in 1998. She married Paul Corliss on July 3, 1982, in Atlanta, Michigan.
Nancy loved spending time with her family. She had a special fondness for giraffes and enjoyed collecting anything with giraffes. In her free time, she enjoyed art, watching movies, watercolor painting, photography, and traveling. She visited seven countries and 49 states.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Paul Corliss; five children, William D. McCormick II and his wife, Sandy, Sean McCormick and his wife, Eureka, Brent Corliss and his wife, Kris, Wendy Krupp and her husband David, and Angela Corliss and her fiancé, Bill Fenner; ten grandchildren, Patrick, Cara, Jeremy, Jason, Daniel, Taylor, Tiffany, Justina, Robert, and Rose; great-grandson, Teddy; sister, Jeanne Anderson; brother, Mark Slocum and his wife, Rose Lee; sister-in-law, Virginia Slocum; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her two brothers, Larry and Lon Slocum and his wife, Natalie Slocum and her brother-in-law, Roland Anderson. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com |
