DOVE, SHIRLEY ANN (GILKES)- of Flint, age 90, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, with her family by her side.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pm Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation will be held at 11am until the time of service at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to any charity of your choice.
Shirley was born on February 2, 1936, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Doris Holman.
Shirley married Eldon Dove in December 1999.
She graduated from Flint Technical High School class of 1954. She was a member of West Court Street Church of God. Shirley enjoyed playing cards, creating greeting cards, collecting and visiting lighthouses, spending her winters in Florida and spending time with her family.
Shirley was a secretary for the West Court Street Church of God. She is survived by her husband Eldon; children, David (Michelle) Gilkes, Kevin (Ann) Gilkes, Mark (Lisa) Gilkes, Deborah (Bradley) Holloway, Karen (Jon) Lewis, Diane (Douglas) Hamilton; 11 grandchildren, Alyse Gilkes, Emily Gilkes, Michael Gilkes, Adam (Stephanie) Gilkes, Eric (Annika) Gilkes, Cody (Mandy) Gilkes, Logan (Ciera) Gilkes, Benjamin (Sarah) Holloway, Bryan (Valerie) Holloway, Craig (Trisha) Hamilton and Neil Hamilton; 12 great-grandchildren; lifelong friend, Joni Morris.
