SLOAN, Mark – of Flint, age, 73, passed away September 20, 2023, at his residence. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project or the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Mark was born in Flint, MI on December 26, 1949, son of Richard and Gertrude (Haley) Sloan. He married Lucinda “Cindy” Barnhart on November 8, 1969, in Flint, MI. Mark was a business owner, master mechanic, racecar driver and a jack of all trades. He enjoyed boating, camping, and water skiing. Mark had a generous heart and donated to many charities throughout the years. Above all, he loved to spend time with his family.
Mark is survived by his wife, Cindy; children, Rebecca (Jeff) Sloan, Annette (Alan) Matthews, Bethany Sloan (Erik); four grandchildren, Urban, Leland, Sloan and Declan; siblings, Sharon Pfeiffer and Marjorie Roehl; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by brother, Jim Sloan; sisters, Ann Marie Kielty and Diedre Belleview.
