Dianne was born on May 6, 1947, in Flint, Michigan to the late Edmund Zovishlack and Earnestine Millington. She met the love of her life, and best friend, Rick Cherry at Old Orchard Park in Oscoda, MI during the summer of 1962. They would marry in 1967 in Mt. Morris and soon after, they moved to Flint Township. Dianne loved crafting, sewing, collecting and thrifting. She particularly enjoyed celebrating the holiday seasons with family and friends. She was famous for her Halloween parties and spooky basement tunnels that she organized for her children, the handmade costumes she made for her grandchildren and the magical Christmas trees, miniature villages and twinkling lights she showcased every year.
She loved bowling, card club and her annual girl’s Shipshewana weekend. She helped in the classroom when her kids were in elementary school, and she was the best cheerleader for every sporting event her kids participated in. Dianne worked at the Holy Redeemer Early Learning Center for a number of years with the little ones and continued to watch a number of children in her home after she retired. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a cake maker and a wonderful cook. Her love and devotion to family developed into her documenting their history in several family tree binders. Her summers included motorcycle riding out East with Rick and a group of friends, camping with her family and spending time at the cabin. She travelled whenever she could both domestically and abroad. She also loved spending time with and taking care of her children and grandchildren. She was known for her beautiful smile and her kind and compassionate spirit. She was always available at the other end of the phone line to answer a question or offer help or advice. (I will miss you, Mom!!)
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard, her three children Suzanna (Marcus), Tony (Leah), and Matthew (Amy) her six grandchildren Joshua, Zachary, Reece, Bryce, Emma and Lucas, brother Ed (Joy), sisters-in-law, Mary Ann and Carol (Al) and many nieces, nephews, several cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Anthony and Angeline Cherry, her brothers Dana and Dale and several aunts and uncles, particularly Emma and George.
May Eternal Rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
