Born on March 19th , 1945, in Owosso, Carol was the cherished daughter of Claud and Flora (Root) Spiess.
She Graduated from Owosso High School in 1964.
On July 3, 1965, Carol married her beloved husband, Wayne Forrest Hunt, at Grace Bible Church in Owosso. Together, they shared over 53 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2018.
A devoted member of the First Church of God, today known as the HUB Owosso, Carol exemplified her faith through joyful participation in church activities. Her unwavering faith was a guiding force in her life and in the lives of those she touched.
Professionally, she was a homemaker first and dedicated many years to the education of young minds as a Title 1 Teacher for Corunna and Durand Schools. Later she worked at Owosso Motor Products, where she worked for over two decades before her retirement in 2009.
Wayne and Carol's life journey included moving multiple times. The family recalls at least eight separate locations, two of which they built from the ground up. Though relocating was not always Carol’s preference, she consistently transformed each
house into a warm and welcoming home. With each move she insisted on her vacation treasures of rocks and driftwood as well, as all her cherished heirloom flowers, were carried from one home to the next.
Carol’s love of baking and cooking was evident with any visit to her home. Some of her signature dishes included wacky cake, brownies, fudge and of course her famous Sunday dinner pot roast. Her recipes, crafted with love and spontaneity, were never
documented, each dish was a reflection of her creativity and care. Many fond memories were created when the family traveled to Florida, the Dakota’s as well as the Badlands. After retirement, Wayne and Carol traveled to numerous states, and enjoyed many Michigan day trips! Most memorable for Carol was the Redwood Forest in California and the coast of Maine.
Above all, Carol’s family was her pride and joy. From her favorite son in-law Scott to Shane, also known as the golden child. Yes, all her children were special to her, however she adored all her grand and great-grandchildren and they adored her.
She is survived by her children, Tammy (Scott) Black, Shane (Louise) Hunt, and Lance Hunt; her treasured grandchildren, Stephanie ( Dennis) Winslow, Cody ( Sara) Black, Sierra Hunt, Garrett ( Monika) Hunt, Caleb Hunt, Kylie ( Bobby) Church, Jake (Aleah) Hunt, Jaycen Hunt, Austin (Jenna) Beyerlein, Phoebe Beyerlein, Elena Beyerlein and her adored great-grandchildren, Claire, Chole, Mia, Carter, Charlotte, William and Greyson.
