Kathryn Ann Peraino, age 67, of Clio, passed away on July 10, 2026.
Funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, July 17, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Erik Cloeter officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12-7pm Thursday, July 16, 2026, and 10am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Kathy was born on January 4, 1959, in Flint, Michigan, to George and Emily Stevens.
On May 12, 1979, she married the love of her life, Phillip Peraino. They shared 40 years of marriage, building a life rooted in commitment, resilience, and family, until his passing.
Kathy spent many years working hard and showing up for others, including 12 years at Bronner’s, 8 years as a paraprofessional with Clio Schools, and 10 years with Citizens Bank. No matter the role, she took pride in what she did and the people she helped along the way.
She found joy in simple, creative things—working in her flower beds, painting lawn ornaments, and taking on hands-on craft projects that kept her busy and grounded. In her later years, she especially loved doing diamond art, finding peace in the quiet focus it gave her.
She was a complex woman—at times tough, at times tender—but at her core, she had a soft heart. Nowhere was that more evident than in the love she had for her grandchildren. They were, without question, the center of her world and the ones who brought out her gentlest, most genuine joy.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah (Karl) Pepper; her son, Gregory (Victoria) Peraino; her beloved grandchildren, Luke Pepper, Evah Pepper, Haisley Peraino, and Phillip Peraino; her sisters, Elaine (Tim) Seney and Mary (special friend Tim) Tuohy; her brother, Jim (Tammy) Stevens; along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Peraino, father-in-law Philip J. Peraino and her parents, George and Emily Stevens.
Her life was not perfect, but it was real. She loved in the ways she knew how, and she leaves behind memories that will stay with those who knew her, especially the moments where her softness showed through.
