TORREZ, Tyler Joseph – of Birch Run, age 30, died peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2026, surrounded by the unwavering love of his family and friends, following a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Tyler was born on June 9, 1996, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Ruth Ann Lehner and Andrew Michael Torrez. He graduated from Bridgeport High School with the Class of 2014. Tyler was a hardworking and dedicated young man who spent several years managing fast-food restaurants. Outside of work, he found peace and happiness in nature. Whether hunting, fishing, or simply taking walks, he appreciated life's simple pleasures. Tyler was a jokester who loved making others laugh. While he was often the one keeping things lighthearted, those closest to him knew his sensitive side and the deep care he had for the people he loved. Above all, Tyler loved spending time with his family and friends. Sharing stories, making memories, and simply being together were the moments that meant the most to him, especially the bond he shared with his baby niece, Toni Rae. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are: Mother, Ruth Ann Lehner; Father, Andrew Torrez; Siblings: Andrew (Reahlyn) Torrez, Kara (Baily) Felske, and Stephen Chaffin; Grandmothers: Naoma Lehner, and Josephine Torrez; Grandfather, Richard Torrez; Aunts & uncles: Carrie Marshall, Joseph Lehner, Tammy (Don) Wilson, and Brian Torrez; Nieces, Toni Rae Felske and Zendaya Torrez; Nephew, Myles Chaffin; Cousins: Marshal, Corrin, Miranda, Mitchel, Anjela, Donnie, Kyle, and Blake; Beloved furry companion – his dog, Luke; Many other loving family members, and friends. Tyler was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joseph Franklin Lehner.
Funeral services will be held at 4PM Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Alex Clark officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 11AM until the time of service at 4PM. A private burial will be held at Maple Valley Cemetery in St. Helen. Memorial contributions may be made to the family through their Venmo @Ruth-Cabello. A charitable designation will be determined at a later date in Tyler's memory.
