FENT, Dorothy Marie (Stoick-Bechtel) – of Birch Run, age 94 died Sunday, November 03, 2019 at Medilodge in Frankemuth, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church in Birch Run. Pastor Sue Trinklein officiating. Burial to follow in the Birch Run township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM and at the church on Thursday until time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions can be made to the Christ Lutheran Church.
She was born August 2, 1925 in Millington, Michigan to the late Nicholas and Anna (Zaluska) Stoick. Dorothy grew up in the Vassar area and attended Caro High School. On November 10, 1947 she married Jack Bechtel and were blessed with two beautiful daughters. Tragically, Jack was killed in an auto accident in 1951. On December 3, 1955 Dorothy married Duane Fent, and they were blessed with three more beautiful daughters. Sadly, Duane passed in 2014. Dorothy worked at the family owned and operated hotel acting as the property manager. Dorothy was a resident of Birch Run for over 60 years. She enjoyed attending speaking events at the townhall with lady friends. Dorothy loved music, cooking, dance, painting, the arts, and the casino. Her family and grandchildren were her joy. Dorothy was the proud Godmother to two girls, Jeanette Tucker and Lottie Marr. She loved her cats “Belly” and “Beana”.
Surviving are: Children, Denise (Don Powell) Bechtel of Cadillac MI., Lynda (Bryan) Hildebrant of Cadillac MI., Michele (Keith Baker) Fent of Union Lake MI., Cynthia (John Guidarelli) Fent of Birch Run, Lisa Fent of Birch Run; 4 Grandchildren, 7 Great-grandchildren, and 2 Great-great-grandchildren, numerous Nephews and Nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 9 brothers: Nick, Mike, Frank, Walter, Pete, Edward, Willis, John, and Stanley, 2 sisters: Stella, and Clara.
